Do not. No. 7 middleweight contender Sean Strickland (25-4) faces No. 1 in the UFC Vegas 62 Main Event on October 15 in Las Vegas 2 Jared Cannonier (15-6).
For Strickland, this is a chance to get back into the title fight and lose from a knockout to Alex in the final bout at UFC 276 in July Pereira bounced back. Cannonier is also losing money. He was defeated by champion Israel Adesanya by unanimous decision in the UFC 276 main event.
Strickland is looking forward to a tough fight with Cannonier and says the match won’t be as “boring” as Cannonier vs Adesanya.
“Jared is an amazing guy. He’s big. He’s fucking scary. Right? We can all admit that. When you have a guy like “Kill the Gorillas” You’re a horrible bastard with a name like that. I don’t care what anyone says,” Strickland told The Schmo.
“Me and him, we’re going to stand in the middle of the fucking cage. I’m going to put my hands up like typical Strickland and we’re going to have a big fight for you guys. And I might Will get knocked down, or I might knock him out,” Strickland said with a laugh.
Ben Askren slams Jorge Masvidal for trying to fight Leon Edwards for title
“Jared is a solid guy. He’s fighting. Izzy runs away from him and has a really boring fight for it, which is a What a shame. I won’t be like this when I fight him. It won’t be boring. I won’t run around and dance with your fingernails like Peter Pan. We’re going to have a fucking fight.”
