Outlanders will be on Starz — but not the Fraser family saga.
Premium Cable Jack will bring Outlander to the end of its eighth and final season. The news comes months ahead of the planned summer premiere of the seventh season of
, based on Diana Gabaldon’s Adaptation of the novel series. The series will conclude as the longest-running original in Starz history.
The final season will feature 10 episodes and the upcoming seventh season will have installment.
“For nearly a decade Outlander has won the hearts of audiences around the world and we are delighted to bring Claire and Jamie An epic love story with a proper ending,” said Starz president of original programming Kathryn Busby. “But before we wrap up this chapter, there’s a lot more to their story of passion to be told over the course of the 26 new episodes, and even more to come.” Explore this vibrant world and its origin story. Starz has also officially approved a prequel series titled ) Outlander: Blood of my blood . It will chronicle the love story of Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie. Matthew B. Roberts (Matthew B. Roberts) will continue to perform the main series of the show. Gabaldon is a consulting producer.
“Outlander: Blood of My Blood is essentially a love story. An age of luxury, and how long it takes a person to find love in an age when marriages are strategically entered into, often for political or financial gain,” Roberts said. “The title is a nod to Jamie Fraser’s marriage vows to Claire, and Outlander fans will know and recognize a few Names and faces. The Jamie and Claire TV story may end with season eight, but Diana continues their literary journey in her fantastic series and is working on a tenth book. The final season of Outlander will be based on Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, Gabaldon The eighth book in the series. When the show debuted at 1235192663, it was the last book in the saga; Gabaldon had already published a ninth volume, and went Tell the bees I’m gone and has stated in past interviews that she plans to end the book series with No.
Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan star in Outlander; Season 7 cast also includes Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, John Bell, David Berry, Caitlin O’Ryan, Paul Gorman, Charles Vandervaart, Izzy Meikle-Small, and Joey Phillips.
