See all of this year's White House holiday decorations

Today, the First Lady unveiled the White House’s lavish holiday decorations to the public. Corresponding to the theme of “We The People” in the first line of the Constitution, each room is decorated in a festive spirit, reflecting the shared heritage of our diverse nation. “As our nation comes together for the holidays, traditions may vary, but our shared American values ​​– a belief in possibility, optimism, and togetherness — Will continue season after season.”

The red room is dotted with candles, cranberries and orchids, symbolizing the light of hope and faith. Meanwhile, the East Room is filled with snow-covered trees, and its mantel showcases views of the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, the Great Smoky Mountains, and Shenandoah National Park. Holiday ready pièce de resistance? A .5ft Christmas tree , from Auburn, Pennsylvania, with hanging state bird ornaments from all 18 states and territories.

There is also a gingerbread replica of the White House, a sugar cookie replica of the Independence Hall in Philadelphia, and Candelabra made of old White House wood discarded during is being renovated. Finally, the Bidens added some personal touches: playful illustrations of the family pet Commander the dog and Willow the cat sit in the Vermeil Room, while the family stockings hang in the State Dining Room.

All in all, there are more than 83, 18 lights, 50 trees and 18 wreaths in this year’s exhibition, by the above 150 Volunteers create a veritable winter wonderland.
