Showtime will profile the people behind the anti-Trump PAC and the Lincoln Project in a documentary series.
The five-part series, titled The Lincoln Project , will premiere on October 7. Fisher Stevens (Tiger King, Dirty Money) and Karim Amer (The Vow) is directing. It will follow a group of former Republican operatives and strategists on a mission to defeat Republican incumbent Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
“Never has a super PAC captured the public imagination like the Lincoln Project. They showed us that you can use the power of storytelling and the internet to fight back, and you can fight brought to their door to confront the bully,” Stevens and Amel said in a statement. “Like the best true documentary tours, we don’t know where this story will take us, and we hope that by presenting this all-American story of redemption, power and betrayal, we can entertain and inspire audiences to be more active in protecting American democracy. The foundations are more fragile than ever.”
The Lincoln Project, founded at 2019, with a series of attacks against Trump and his The president’s acerbic adverts quickly rose to prominence among allies. The series will also delve into the PAC’s data analysis and voter targeting operations, as well as “internal unrest, sexual harassment scandals and waves of negative news,” the show’s log reads. “One battle is over, another is underway—this time personal.”
Lincoln Project Produced The Othrs in partnership with Bloomfish Productions. Alexander Hyde, Mikaela Beardsley, Alison Berger, Judy Collin and Amy Redford; Amer, Stevens, Geralyn White Dreyfous, Lyn Davis Lear, Vijay Vaidyanathan and Jamie Wolf executives make.
