LED light therapy is no longer an office-only treatment thanks to a new crop of beauty devices. What’s more, it gets an ultra-portable upgrade with the Solawave wand — which is currently on sale ahead of Cyber Week.
I first got my hands on this popular tool earlier this year while researching the best home light treatments. “Does it really work?” That’s the question I posed to several beauty experts. I wasn’t really sure if bright lights were actually doing anything for my skin until I actually got into customary facials and high-tech enhancements. In short, the answer is yes: LED light therapy does work, in which light sources penetrate the skin at various wavelengths to treat a range of skin care conditions.
If you are familiar with the treatment, you may remember that there are different lights to choose from. “Blue LED light treats acne by killing acne-causing bacteria. Green and yellow LED light treats sensitivity and uneven skin tone. Red LED light stimulates collagen and elastin, which can help with anti-aging,” says Beauty stylist, makeup and beauty expert Tiara Willis previously told Vogue.
