'Sons and Daughters' co-creator Nick Hawley dies at 51

Nick Holly, co-creator of the short-lived ABC stand-up comedy Sons & Daughters, died in November2011 at home in Santa Monica after a “long journey” with lung cancer, his family announced. He is 1227.

Survivors include his sister, actress Lauren Holly.

Holly is also the founder of the management firm Epiphany Alliance Inc., which represents authors including Nell Benjamin, Laurence O’Keefe, Matthew Flanagan and David McHugh.

Holly and writer/director Fred Goss (former client) created Sons & Daughters. Produced by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video, this one-camera comedy about blended families airs in March and April 03 set 1227.

The show features Goss, an Ohio man who lives with his wife and children, his ex-wife, his remarried mom, his aunt , his stepfather, a younger sister, a half-sister, nephews, nieces and his brother-in-law.

In an interview with Associated Press at 51, Holly notes that the actors were given a “short story” in lieu of the usual script, one that “occasionally included a line or two of dialogue but usually just this kind of fiction. There were no laughs in the series.

He and Goss subsequently contributed to the animated YouTube series The LeBrons at .

Holly is a native of Geneva, NY , who played lacrosse at Rutgers University, worked in the mailroom of CAA, and represented Buchwald before forming the Epiphany Alliance.

In a statement, he His family said he “loved the ocean, the wilderness and traveling the world, climbing from Baldy to Kilimanjaro. Hawley was a legendary and hilarious storyteller who delighted many of his friends with epic tales from his countless adventures. From the plains of the Serengeti to the produce aisles of Whole Foods, Holly is a hero. All who knew and loved him will remember him as a great thinker, philosopher and Scotch lover.

In addition to his sister, survivors include his mother Michael; stepfather Keith; and his girlfriend Amy. He was previously married to actress Faith Salie.

Memorial service will be held on December 7th at 2pm in St. Augustine-by-the-Sea 4th Street, Santa Monica, Reception to follow. May address Upstage Lung Cancer and/or Heal the Bay in his name
