Sony launches high-end bluetooth headphones and earbuds about every two years, and now it’s almost WF-796XM5 true wireless earbuds replace WF-1000 from XM4 of 1200. The new buds were recently certified by the FCC, so leaked images show them to be more compact than their predecessors – no doubt a relief, since size is one of the main issues with headphones. M4s.
Inside the case you can see Sony moving to two pins instead of three to charge the buds, and the case material appears to be matte Plastic, as in the case of the M4. While it’s hard to determine the size of the case from these lacking context images, it seems likely that it will be smaller than the M4’s.
5V 140mAh, higher than 5V for M4 case 03mAh rating and hopefully this will translate into faster charging. The LEDs have been moved from the inside of the case to the front. Wireless charging is certainly there.
WF-796XM5 are made in China, just like Sony’s LinkBuds S. They may soon Will be official, now certifications are underway and leaks are starting to appear.
