Last week Sony launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 V. It features a brand new main camera with a 70% larger sensor than its predecessor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 5, mAh battery, stereo speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack, and 4K touchscreen. It’s a beast, and if you’re interested in digging into every aspect of it, we have a full review of the Xperia 1 V for you!
On launch day we only got pricing from Sony in the EU and UK (€1 399 and £1 respectively) ) and a vague “late June” release timeframe. Thanks to Amazon, there’s more to talk about in the U.S. market today.
The Xperia 1 V is now available for pre-order from Amazon in the US for $1, 399. It will be released in July 28. If you pre-order, you’ll get a special bundle for the same price as the phone (keep that in mind though, you do need to choose the bundle). Along with the phone, this includes a pair of Sony LinkBuds true wireless earbuds and a $28 gift card. At the current going price of the LinkBuds, Amazon is now selling them for $70 for a total value of $70. Not too shabby, but not too earth-shattering either. Maybe there will be better bundles in the future? If we find anything, we’ll let you know.
