Hit one well and the odds of winning increase. Take a look at the four NFL teams that participated in last year’s conference championship game and you’ll see that all are led by a talented signalman: Patrick Mahomes, Matthew Stafford, Joe Burrow and Jimmy Garoppolo.
But in the unfortunate event of an injury, it’s always good to have a quality backup. Some teams, like the San Francisco 49ers — who recently solved their biggest offseason problem by re-signing Garoppolo as Trey Lance’s backup — even have two high-quality players on the floor.
