Staud Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear

The Staud girl has grown up. So does Sarah Staudinger herself. As her brand’s number one client (evidence is on her Instagram), she has been designing clothes for herself and other women like her. “I think clothes always react to my life, whether it’s Covid-19 or personal matters like getting married. I design clothes for real moments,” Staudinger said in a preview of her spring collection. “We have a tree pattern in our lookbooks and images this season,” she added. “It’s a symbol of our girls’ growth and self-discovery.”

Her collection reflects this new journey . While previous Staud outings have focused on travel and resort wear, this season she has emphasized making very good basics, including poplin button-up tops, fitted blazers, tulle culottes and office-appropriate dresses. But Staudinger wasn’t quite ready to give up her love of crop tops and matching suits. Crop tops, low-waisted workwear and fun knitted suits were all there.

While her wedding may have served as the catalyst for the collection’s emphasis on evening gowns, Staudinger simply wanted to serve her clients Staud’s prices create well-crafted, high-end gowns. “People go to many events and weddings, and no one wants to spend their entire paycheck on a dress. We want to offer our customers a variety of options, and our price point is a core part of our DNA,” Staudinger said. “We wanted Staud women to feel expensive, but not really.” Some gowns showcased subtle sexy moments with open backs or belly cutouts; others were more modest. Staud even experimented with gorpy versions of evening gowns in technical nylon, which resembles cellophane and takes on beautiful earth tones like amber. The open back part of the robe is a bungee cord. These dresses seem guaranteed to be photographed on Instagram, but will also look better in real life. At SoHo’s new Staud store, buyers let out a gasp as models walked in.

) Of all the Staud collections, there are accessories that will soon be available on Insta models or Staudinger himself become popular. This season she’s focused on mini bags, launching Shirley, Venice, and more, which she says will still fit your phone, makeup, chargers, and even your vitamins. Her new shoes, including comfy chunky heels and wedges, are wear-tested by everyone in her office to make sure they’ll take you from work to night on the town. The Staud woman is growing, but she hasn’t lost her fashion sense. She just bought some shoes for pebbles.
