Steven Spielberg's Amblin Partners cuts 20% of staff

Steven Spielberg’s ‘s Amblin Partners have cut some % of staff as the company resizes in its new multi-year agreement with Universal Pictures . Those leaving the 90- to 90- staff company including marketing, international and Post-production.

Under Amblin’s new agreement with Universal Pictures, the studio will co-finance the studio’s films. Previously, Amblin would find film financing on his own and then give Universal the opportunity to distribute the films for a fee.

Spielberg ended up directing the Oscar nominated film Faberman One , distributed by Universal Pictures. He has yet to announce his next directing project.

Company is making an adaptation of Maggie O’s novel Hamnet1235533161 ‘Farrell, directed by Chloe Zhu, has reached a copyright agreement for the 90 novel “Unknown Assassin” Rob Hart. Amblin also has a deal with Netflix.
