Stranger Things Joseph Quinn is in talks to join the Gladiator sequel .
Actor to play Roman Emperor Caracalla in Ridley Scott film. The Paramount project is the follow-up to the 2001 Oscar winner for Best Picture, Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe), a man who was sold into slavery and A former general forced into battle as a gladiator under the rule of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), who proclaimed himself Emperor of Rome.
Quinn will join Paul Mescal, . Connie Nielsen will return to play Commodus’ sister Lucilla. As previously announced, Denzel Washington and Barry Keoghan have also been confirmed to star in the film.
According to previous reports, the story of the sequel will center on Lucius (Mezcal), the son of Lucilla played by Nelson and nephew of Phoenix Commodus. Djimon Hounsou is expected to return as Juba, a gladiator and former ally of Maximus.
David Scarpa, who worked with Scott on All the Money in the World and the duo’s upcoming Napoleon Movie, writing script. Scott will also work with Michael Pruss through Scott Free and Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher through Red Wagon Entertainment.
Gladiator – Produced in partnership with Universal Pictures, the studio now has the option to co-produce a sequel once the project is packaged. When it was released, Gladiator grossed $ million dollars, was nominated for eleven Oscars, won five, Including Crowe’s Best Picture and Best Actor.
