Lifetime released the trailer for Surviving R. Kelly: The Final Chapter , a two-night event in which several survivors will detail their experiences during the trial of the singer and convicted sex trafficker earlier this year, as well as their The fear and intimidation faced when testifying publicly.
The third part of the docu-series will premiere in two parts beginning January 2nd, followed by a second night on January 3rd and will also explore the The impact of the former R&B superstar faces multiple federal and state trials for his crimes spanning 30 years.
The three-and-a-half minute trailer touches on the Doctor’s experience more than 30 Discussing Kelly at its core circles and their potential role in covering up his crimes; the mortal threats his various survivors faced while still being abused by the artist, and then when trying to come forward; how survivors’ parents coped with Kelly’s fear and abuse; exploring the facts of the assigned case, including naming Aaliyah in court; and the public protests for and against R. Kelly that have sprung up during the trial.
“This is unprecedented in the history of popular music, and I believe there are hundreds of victims,” an expert in the trailer says of Kelly’s victimization over the decades . “I know now 30.”
