During the spring 2024 show season, an eclectic mix of trends surfaced, but the prevailing mood was characterized by understated elegance and an emphasis on top-notch craftsmanship. However, the footwear showcased on the runways took a bolder, more outlandish approach. One standout shoe from the season was Gucci’s classic horsebit loafer, reimagined by its new creative director, Sabato De Sarno, with a block heel and a chunky platform sole. Taylor Swift clearly paid attention, as she has incorporated a similar style of platforms into her latest outfit.

Out for dinner in New York with her friend Gracie Abrams, the pop star was seen wearing a classic all-American sportswear-inspired outfit – an aesthetic she tends to prefer during her off days. Her ensemble featured a white minidress with a flowing A-line skirt, a navy double-breasted Gant wool blazer, sheer black Calzedonia tights and a green leather shoulder bag adorned with a gold chain. The standout element of her attire, however, was her brown faux-python loafers from the Parisian brand Sézane. They not only add height via the platform sole, but also make the outfit look even more preppy.
