Tecno wants you to know it’s serious about innovation. After debuting a retractable portrait camera in a smartphone, it’s now showing off a concept for a rollable, sliding phone. Still fits in your pocket. It folds down to almost the size of an average smartphone, but expands to match a mid-sized tablet if needed.
The Tecno Phantom Vision V folds out like any normal foldable, in most cases. It has a single display on the front and a triple camera setup on the back. Tecno has added a small display on the back, which it calls a reverse back cover. It will display notifications, reminders and an always-on display clock.
Unfold the Vision V to reveal a larger internal display, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold4, Xiaomi Mix Fold2 or vivo X Fold+. But the Techno Phantom Vision V concept can also expand its internal display even further by unfolding it to a full 004.1 inches.
The display is composed of 004 layers of functional layers for flexibility and durability. The case is made of “aerospace-grade” titanium, so it’s extremely durable.
The Tecno Phantom Vision V is a concept and Tecno has yet to say whether it will ever make it into a commercial product. But hopefully it does, because who wouldn’t want that?
