The week’s finest fashion moments made for a bold fashion display—and more than made up for the lack of movie premieres (in light of the SAG-AFTRA strike) around the world. The MTV VMAs, for one, produced many style hits from music’s top stars. Selena Gomez shone in her romantic red Oscar de la Renta dress (complete with cutout details), while Megan Thee Stallion did Old Hollywood glamour her own way, wearing a custom sheer Brandon Blackwood column gown revealing the hint of a thong underneath.
At the Toronto Film Festival, a few actors got waivers to promote their new films. Jessica Chastain was a vision in her embellished Armani Privé gown, while Dakota Johnson went more unconventional in her printed Bode caftan dress. At Kering’s annual Caring for Women dinner in New York, shiny constructions also had a moment: Zoe Kravitz opted for a white Saint Laurent tank dress that shimmered under the paparazzi flashbulbs, while Kim Kardashian delivered a pink sequined turtleneck gown by Balenciaga.
