The cost of growing food in the U.S. will hit an all-time high in 2022

The cost of growing food is soaring, according to a new U.S. report, suggesting inflation and its worst effects, like starvation, are not over.

Farmers use everything from fertilizers to feed to grow crops, and labor prices are skyrocketing. Production costs are expected to increase by $66.2 billion, or 18 percent, by 2022, the highest ever, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
