Chloe East, one of Steven Spielberg’s breakout latest feature films The Fabelmans, is writing for A1235507295’s new thriller Heretic from the creative side of A Quiet Place Scott Baker and Brian Woods .
Baker and Woods wrote and directed the film about two Mormon missionaries trying to convert a man who turns out to be Much more dangerous than they expected. Hugh Grant is also in talks for the film.
A Project is scheduled to start in July, however, as with any movie filming this summer , production could be affected by a possible SAG-AFTRA strike. Members overwhelmingly voted earlier this week that a strike may be called if a new contract is not agreed by June deadline.
The New York-based independent studio has had success with the horror-thriller genre, including Ari Aster’s Hereditary and Midsommar and the X movies of Ti West and Mia Goth, including the upcoming trilogy Maxxine. A won the hit Sundance supernatural horror title earlier this year amid stiff competition Talk to Me.
In the semi-autobiographical The Fabelmans, East played the high school girlfriend of Spielberg’s young stand-in, played by Gabriel Labelle. Past credits include the series Kevin (Probably) Saves the World and the HBO Max teen drama Generations .
