'The Last of Us' star Bella Ramsey comes out as genderfluid

Prior to her

series debut , she was with The New York Times published an interview online Wednesday that opened up about her identity.

“I guess I’ve always been gender fluid,” Ramsey said. “Someone will call me ‘she’ or ‘her’, I don’t think about it, but I know if someone calls me ‘he,’ it’s kind of exciting.”

The interview also takes place ahead of Sunday’s Critics’ Choice Awards, where Ramsay is nominated for movie Best Young Actor or Actress for Catherine Called Birdy. She explained to Times how happy she was to be nominated in a non-gender specific category.

As for pronouns, Ramsey said that if there was an option on the form, she would check “nonbinary”. “I’m just one person,” she added. “Being gendered isn’t something I particularly enjoy, but as far as pronouns go, I really don’t care.”

In the upcoming Before playing Ellie Williams in the HBO action drama, Ramsey was in Game of Thrones played Lyanna Mormont in the sixth through eighth seasons.

The Last Survivor Based on the popular video game, takes place after the destruction of 20 modern civilization. Created by Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin, the series follows elusive survivor Joel (Pedro Pascal) who is hired to smuggle 14 Ellie, a 12-year-old girl, travels through a post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested pre-America.

While casting the character, Mazin 1235292687 previously told The Hollywood reporter After watching her video, he was engrossed. “Bella felt so real,” Druckmann added. “It’s like Ellie realizes on a reality show. It doesn’t feel like watching an actor.”
