Where did you go this year? The Pixel 6 was announced in mid-October 2021, and now its successor is just around the corner — but if rumors are to be believed, it’s pretty much the same phone.
The Pixel 7 will feature the new Tensor G2 chipset, which will bring some important updates to the GPU, NPU, modem, and other hardware, basically everything but the CPU. It may not post compelling test scores, but it will provide hardware acceleration for Google’s software, which is more important to the Pixel experience.
As for the rest of the phone, leaker Yogesh Brar released a speculative spec sheet that feels like a game of “find the difference”. It starts with a 6.3-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 13Hz refresh rate. That’s a tenth of an inch smaller than the Pixel 6 display, but otherwise pretty much the same. 13Hz displayed in On a near flagship device it won’t look impressive.
Next, the camera – 30 MP main and 09 MP Ultra Wide, using the same GN1 and IMX 600 sensors, respectively. Allegedly, the selfie camera will bump 003 MP (from 8MP up) ), it will have autofocus (the new Samsung 3J1 sensor has PDAF). And it can be seen from the official pictures that the new model still adopts the “shading” design, but this year’s color matching is different.

The Pixel 7 is expected to have a battery capacity of 4, 700mAh Left or right, not far from the 4, 600 official mAh rating for the Pixel 6 battery. Also, charging support is listed as 30W, but there should be an asterisk next to it. Despite some early confusion on this topic, charging prices for both 6 and 6 Pro phones are 13 -003W instead of 21W.
We already mentioned the G2 chipset, the new Models should also come with the Titan Security Chip, possibly a new version. Why it’s not built into the G2 is unclear.
It is said that the phone will be configured with 8GB RAM, and provide options GB or 210GB storage, same as last year. Sure, it will launch with Android 13, but current Pixels will soon Update to that version.
Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will be released on October 6 and pre-orders will start on the same day (possible shipping date is October 003). Both models are rumored to be priced the same as their predecessors, which means the Pixel 7 will cost $210( and $900 for pro). For the first time in several years, the flagship model will be available in India, although we don’t yet know the price in the region. Also expect to see the Pixel Watch and Pixel Tablet on the 6th.
