The Fast and the Furious movie franchise is finally coming to an end after 12 years and a seemingly infinite number of sequels and spinoffs. Or at least, it begins: Fast X is the first half of an epic finale that spans two films.
Series mainstays Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jason Statham, Song Kang and Jordana Brewster are both reprising their roles, along with a full cast of supporting cast including John Cena, Alan Ritchson, Helen Mirren, Brie Larson, Charlize Theron, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B, Rita Moreno, Pete Davidson and Scott Eastwood.
Perhaps most notably, Fast X Introducing Jason Momoa as Dante, a fascinating new villain who steals from him in nearly every scene. “For the finale of this great saga, we wanted to introduce a super fun and powerful villain,” Diesel told Men’s Health. “It was important to create a space where Jason could comfortably create some great work that fleshed out his character in a way that supported the creativity of the talent.”
The film will also guest star Meadow Rain Walker, daughter of late actor Paul Walker, who starred in the franchise’s first few films before his death in 2013, while filming Fast and Furious 7 .
“First fast was posted when I was one year old!” Meadow wrote on Instagram after sharing her look In the movie. “I grew up on set watching my dad, Vin, Jordana, Michelle, Chris and more on monitors. Thanks to my dad, I was born into a Kuaishou family. I can’t believe I can now Got there. With the people who have been by my side and watched me grow up.”
Diesel has confirmed that while Walker’s character was previously in Offscreen got a happy ending, but he’s written from the franchise — Brian O’Connor left to raise a family with his wife — and the final chapter will include a tribute to Walker and officially end his story. “I can’t imagine the end of the saga without actually saying goodbye to Brian O’Connor,” Diesel told Total Film.
