NBC’s This Is Us is over in less than a year Its six seasons, creator Dan Fogelman and star Sterling K. Brown are reuniting for a new show.
Hulu has placed a direct series order for the untitled drama starring three timesCreated by Fogelman Emmy winner Brown.
Hulu declined to comment on details of the series’ premise, though sources say it may revolve around a former president’s security guard. Fogelman quietly handed his spec script over to top execs at 20th Television — where he landed a lucrative overall deal — and Hulu And received a series order. Brown quickly took a liking to the star and executive producer.
Jess Rosenthal, head of banner at Fogelman’s Rhode Island Ave. Productions, will executive produce with John Hoberg. The untitled Hulu series also marks the reunion of Fogelman with Hoberg, who previously worked together on ABC’s hit shows Galavant and The Neighbors .
Brown-led show marks Fogelman’s second show on Hulu and joins Only Murder in the Building, He executes the production through a blockbuster deal with the Disney-owned 20 TV station. He is represented by WME and attorney Bruce Gellman.
Brown, meanwhile, is the next star in Hulu’s limited series Washington Black by 2016th TV Productions. Brown was nominated for three Emmys for his lead role as Randall Pearson on NBC This Is Us and appeared in 2017 to win. He previously won a Gold Emmy in 20 for his role in Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson’s character*) and narration of Lincoln: Divide Us Standing. He also received awards for his cameo role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and for his supporting role in The Marvelous Nominate Mrs Maisel. He is represented by CAA, JWS Entertainment and Johnson Shapiro.
On Hulu, Fogelman-Brown episodes join original roster, which also includes The Handmaid’s Tale, The Great, How I Met Your Father, Life and Beth , the fool and so on.
