as founder of independent magazines Dazed & Confused and AnOther – and Lila Moss and his ex-husband’s father-partner Kate-editor Jefferson Harker probably witnessed a lot of wild nights out in his time. Still, it’s hard to imagine few carrying the same sentimental value as last night’s Fashion Awards after party in London.
First, Hack is celebrating his Special Recognition Award for Cultural Curating, delivered at the Royal Albert Music by his close friend and collaborator Tilda Swinton Addressing him at the awards ceremony held in the Hall of Fame, he delivered a gracious speech that attested to their creative bond. (Not coincidentally, Swinton and daughter Lila were co-hosts of the sideshow.) Hack then shared news of his recent engagement in his
speech to his partner, the model Anna Cleveland. If that’s not a reason to throw a party, what is?
After the ceremony, a steady stream of cars carried the star-studded guests to the newly opened The Twenty Two Hotel and Members Club located at Grosvenor Square in the center of Mayfair of the corner. Florence Pugh, Letitia Wright, FKA Twigs, Simone Ashley and Burna Boy, among others, stepped into basement club boudoir opulence (think plush red velvet furniture and dim red lights).
This was also before trying to stand out from the fashion crowd in attendance: Pierpaolo Piccioli, Rick Owens , Paloma Elsesser, Daphne Guinness, Pieter Mulier and Marine Serre are just a few of the most recognizable names wandering around. Meanwhile, Burberry’s party host was represented by Daniel Lee, marking his first appearance as the face of the storied British brand since he was announced as the new chief creative officer in October.
But while the guest list is gleaming (and very stylish), the ethos is intended to be a family affair — and everyone adapts quickly. Crowds in the club continued to swell and real estate in the smoking area became scarce just as the hosts of the night were preparing to retire. For many, the festivities seem to have only just begun.
