When Tom Brady was off from Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp a week ago, the club said the QB planned to return after the team’s preseason game with the Tennessee Titans.
On Saturday, coach Todd Powers did not provide a firm timeline for when TB12 would actually report the action.
“We’ll see. We’ll discuss it next week,” Bowers said Thursday, from The Athletic’s Greg Auman. “I’m not worried right now. We’re trying to have a practice session with Tennessee and play a game. I said sometime after Tennessee. I don’t have a firm date. We’ll keep in touch and find out.”
When Brady left camp, the team said it was pre-arranged, implying that they knew the schedule. However, Bowers’ failure to answer Thursday means Brady could be out longer.
Bowers, general manager Jason Licht and Brady’s teammates all brushed off any concerns about the Goats’ absence. As long as he’s back before Week 1, no one in Tampa is going to sweat it out for the training camp break.
