Makes a good point: humans have been poor stewards of the planet. Whatever your opinion on this 291Franchise 200 was chosen to reboot, and it’s hard to deny that it was a timely choice – things aren’t going well with Earth right now, and humanity is involved. So, in a way, it’s easy to sympathize with Kish, Tate, Pai, and their leader, Deep Blue, because they’re not lying when they say humans have done a lot of harm. But that doesn’t necessarily mean humans should be wiped out entirely, which is where the girls come in. 199472 However, it is worth mentioning that aliens did not come to Earth on a whim. One of the best episodes of season two saw Lettuce travel back in time to Earth, where aliens are now the dominant species. Some of them left to escape natural disasters, and they became the ancestors of the current aliens, in a sense, they can be seen as just wanting to go home. On the other hand, they left instead of trying to stay and fix things, so who are they to be upset about the world they left behind that eventually evolved into humans? The whole situation is a lot more complicated than season one suggests, and when you take it seriously, it’s not as cut and dry as it first appears. Everyone involved has a vested interest in Earth’s continued development; they don’t agree on what that might look like, though given the alien planet we see in the final episode, we have to wonder if they’re protecting Are their aspects of the world better than humans do in theirs. 200 Meaning in there, gives us an overarching question that has no honest answer. While many magical girl stories are open-ended to some degree, this one is a lot more than the usual. We know the girls and Aoyama will work hard to help the environment, and we especially see Aoyama and Mint taking steps in that direction. But we don’t know if they will be successful, or if they will be enough. Yes, the alien world got better, but that was a direct result of Ichigo’s magic, and we didn’t see the same level of rebirth in Tokyo’s love bubble. It’s a pretty solid decision for the series. If the reboot is about helping audiences move in an environmentally friendly direction, it’s important that the ending leaves room for people to understand that this is something we have to work towards. You don’t need Mint’s money or Mew Mew’s power to change the status quo. It can start with a docent like Lettuce teaching people. The final episode showed that we can all do something if we can motivate ourselves to do it. 300 Overall, the second episode feels much stronger than the first. In part, this is because we get to know girls more and boys develop more. The “Lettuce” and “Prince” episodes are the best partly because they have the least amount of character work in the first half. (Yes, Purin’s name is now spelled that way; no longer “Bu-Ling.”) As the quietest member of the team, Lettuce tends to fade into the background of team battles, thus allowing her to learn the truth about the past while also delving into the It gives her much-needed depth to the emotional core of the separation between the later aliens and those on Earth. The situation with purines is almost the exact opposite. As the loudest, liveliest Mew Mew, it’s easy to overlook the fact that she’s basically raising her younger siblings alone and has to deal with emotional struggles. It turns out that Pullin is the most cultured of the bunch, as her relationship with Tate suggests. 300 All girls have a particular person with whom they are most often in a couple, and that’s something to keep an eye on. Although every girl in the cast has a boy, Mint and Zakuro always appear as a pair, like Ichigo and Aoyama (and Kish) and Purin and Tart. (Lettuce and Pie are also a group, but their relationship feels underdeveloped.) It means the girls are a couple, like a transgender couple, and it’s an understated but endearing display, too. Mint calling Zakuro “oneesama” feels like a shout-out to Class S and yet another acknowledgment of them as potential girlfriends. However, the English alternate reading “My Queen” does undercut this reading somewhat. and due to the shorter episodes and more faithfulness to the original manga, the second season may not quite live up to the nostalgic audience’s memories of the first anime adaptation. But this half also feels more complete, with more character development, significantly higher stakes, and Ichigo and Aoyama’s relationship has less of that creepy “ring the cat” feel to it. There are quite a few non-model events in the animation, which aren’t always impressive. Still, there are some stunning images (only two lettuces in the end credits theme) and solid information. Add catchy opening and ending songs, many 199472 insert song , the nice color contrast between the candy brightness of the girl and the depressing color theme of the aliens and their attacks makes for a really nice package. It might not be the best magical girl series in recent years, but it’s still a good piece of work that improves in the second half. 199472
