UFC welterweight Tony Ferguson believes he will one day fight Khabib Nurmagomedov Share the octagon.
The Eagles have not been out of the basket since their game against Justin Gaethje in October 2020. After securing a second-round submission, Nurmagomedov retired in a post-match interview. The Russian later explained that his mother begged him to retire.
With the announcement of lightweight, fans had to watch a dream fight go to waste. For years, fans and pundits have been hoping to see a showdown between Nurmagomedov and “El Cucuy.”
The two lightweight stars were scheduled to fight five times, but were canceled each time. The cancellation, combined with Nurmagomedov’s retirement, has led many to believe the game is cursed. Ferguson, however, sees it differently.

In addition to the fight itself, the 38-year-old also provides updates on The Ultimate Fighter. Ferguson had previously pleaded with the UFC to put himself and Nurmagomedov on the court. According to the former, fans are just waiting for the “Eagle” to happen.

“I’m the one who made him retire. The guy hasn’t retired. At the end of the day, when you lose someone, you have to Take a break, you have to think, you have to do whatever you have to do, but his father had said that the fight I had with Khabib was me and Khabib. Before he died, he did Said so, and Khabib thought it too.” (h/t MMAFighting)
Tony Ferguson continued, “We got the green light. We were waiting for Khabib’s fat ass. I actually called him Khabib. Did you hear that ? We’re waiting for ‘Fathead’s fat ass, I’ll be sincere with you, we’ve got the green light from brass to talk to them…he’s the one to be scared. Fight or not, we’re going to coach, I’m sure we’ll make it fun.”

he concluded, “He’ll be fighters around that team, and I still have some good material that I haven’t used yet, so I’m just waiting for that thing.”
