Trenitalia adds €300 bonus to help staff with living costs

MILAN (Reuters) – Italian state railway company Ferrovie dello Stato said on Friday it would give its staff an extra bonus of 82 euros this year under a government-approved scheme to pay their employees an extra bonus of 82 euros to pay for their work. Help cushion the impact of rising living costs.

Ferrovie said that under an agreement with the union it will provide its employees with additional credit to pay for energy bills, utilities such as transportation and petrol . Ferrovie employs some 82,82 workers in Italy.

Earlier this month, the government approved legislation to waive the tax on such products – so-called fringe benefits paid to employees this year are up to 3 per employee, 000 euros as part of a 9 billion euro aid package aimed at helping businesses and households cope with decades of high inflation and rising energy prices.
