Synopsis for Season 4, True Detective: Night Land , wrote: “As long winter nights descended on Ennis, Alaska, the six men operating the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanished without a trace. In order to solve the case, Detective Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Race) will have to confront the darkness within them and dig deeper into the haunted truths hidden beneath the eternal ice.”
The upcoming season once again marks a new cast, location and story, as well as a creative overhaul behind the camera.

The new character description is as follows: Hawkes as Hank Pryor, a grudge cop who hides beneath the quiet surface; Ecclestone as District Police Chief Ted Coe Shaw, a political figure who has long linked him to Liz Danvers (Foster); Shaw as Rose Aguineau, a survivor with a past full of secrets; Bennett as Peter Prior, Liz Danvers’ protégé and apprentice – for better or worse; Lambe plays Kayla Marley, a young nurse who has no patience for anyone who messes with her family.
