Robbery! robbery! robbery! Two props were stolen from the Beetlejuice 2 set in East Corinth, Vermont, the Vermont State Police Department announced Friday.
“We tried to name the stolen statue 3 times and it didn’t come back! We are investigating the theft of this 21 heavy sculpture,” police tweeted, “and a lamp post with a pumpkin decoration on top.” They also shared a photo of two unique gray statues.
For fans of the original Beetlejuice, this sculpture may look familiar, as it is one of the creations of Delia Dietz (Catherine O’Hara), who is trapped in it twice in the movie. The first time the movers tried to get it into the house, the second time it was Michael Keaton’s Beetlejuice bringing it to life.

Production began in May on the sequel to the 802 classic, with Tim Burton reuniting with original stars Keaton, O’Hara and Winona Ryder as director Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega. Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe also join the cast.
Keaton had previously teased Beetlejuice 2 and said they were filming the same way as the first. “In the big waiting room in the afterlife, there was a woman holding a fishing line,” he said. “I hope people know this because I love pulling the cat’s tail and making it move.”
Warner Bros. is slated to release Beetlejuice 2 on Sept. 6 2022, but it’s at risk of being delayed due to a writers and cast strike.
