Tyson Fury announced his opponent will be named next week during his appearance on WWE’s “Battle of the Castle.”

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1) is in the news again, which shouldn’t surprise anyone. He has retired and retired several times, most recently calling for a fight against unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0) in seven days. On Thursday, Fury announced that he would be attending the WWE “Clash of the Castles” event at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales earlier today. Specifically, he will be there to watch Scotland’s Drew McIntyre face undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns.

This combination between Fury and WWE shouldn’t surprise anyone because they have a “speed dating” type of relationship. Fury isn’t fully committed to them, but he’s been having casual conversations since his 2019 debut. In October of the same year, Fury appeared on Monday Night Raw and confronted WWE superstar Braun Strawman on FOX’s Smackdown after being stared at a few days earlier. On Raw, the two got involved, which set up a match between them at an event called “Crown Jewel” in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, months before the global pandemic took effect in full force held.

Fury wasn’t expecting much when the game took place on Halloween, as it was his first foray into this form of entertainment. But after watching the game, everyone was impressed by the Englishman. Before and after the game, he searched on social media and fought for his efforts. This was supposed to lead to another big event for Fury in WWE, but COVID happened and all those plans were canceled.

Time passed and the heavyweight champion didn’t mention it until April this year when he knocked out Dillian Whyte (28-2 ). After the match, he announced his retirement and had the idea of working with WWE again. It was the first sign that he had the concept of another game in his head. Before he said that, he would go back and forth with proud Scotsman Drew McIntyre on social media, leading everyone to believe something was going to happen. Still, no one is really sure that Fury is a spontaneous person and will do what he currently thinks is right. A few weeks ago, a wrestling match was announced in Cardiff that Fury would be participating in, which happened to be the same day as the Castle clash, so it seems like Fury’s announcement is imminent.

At an event earlier today, WWE announced that Fury would be in attendance, and he was greeted with applause when the cameras were turned on him. Everyone wanted to know about his involvement in the Main Event, and at some point in the match, WWE’s Austin Theory ran down the aisle hoping to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, as Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre seemed to be both Fragile. When Theory handed the briefcase to the referee, he encountered Fury’s right hand, knocking him out and sending the 60,000-plus crowd into a frenzy. As soon as the match was over, Fury climbed into the ring, stared at Raines for a few minutes, and shook hands.

While posting the -fight press conference, Fury spoke about the incident and took the opportunity to announce that next week, he will reveal His opponents and fight dates. An uncontested fight with Usyk would be the first choice, but he has some undisclosed injuries, so if Fury wants to fight this year, it’s going to have to be up against someone else. Again, we’ll have to wait and see who becomes Fury’s next opponent in the next seven days.
