Why Louisville can cover
Quarterback Malik Cunningham will be looking to recover from a season-opening loss in which he didn’t throw or run for a touchdown, ending his 30-game winning streak. The senior did set a school record last week by a signal caller (39) and will set another mark on Friday as he enters for the 37th straight time. Cunningham led the Cardinals to a 42-35 win over UCF last season, throwing for 265 yards and a TD while rushing for 99 yards and a pair of points.
Like the Cavaliers, Louisville saw some of their moves debut last week. Teenage running back Tyan Evans, who played in Tennessee last season, led the Cardinals’ ground offense as he finished with 13 possessions for 89 yards and touchdowns. After three years in Central Arkansas, Tyler Hudson, a junior out of junior high, became the fourth player in Louisville history to surpass the century mark in receiving yards on his team debut, with eight catches 102 yards were recorded.
