This weekend’s UFC 278 card sets sail this Saturday from the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. The PPV portion of the event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM ET, with early prelims starting at 6:00 PM ET. Now let’s take a look at some betting odds!
Top odds at UFC 278 will be between current welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and promotion to No. 170 high stakes rematch pounder, Leon Edwards. The first time these top fighters fought was at the UFC at FOX 17 in 2015, and Usman was a -300 betting favorite for Edwards’ +220 underdog value. Kamaru won three rounds by unanimous decision that night, and it’s been smooth sailing since.
This time, the stakes are much higher, and now the welterweight king is a bigger betting favorite. For UFC 278, Usman clocked in with a solid profit line of -380, while Edwards was on the deck with a sumptuous loser tag of +310. It should be noted that Edwards hasn’t lost since his encounter with Usman in 2015 (excluding his backstage scuffle with Jorge Masvidal), but let’s not forget we’ve never seen Card Maru loses in the UFC.
In the co-main event that night, former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will return to the ring after a three-year hiatus with the dangerous Paul Paul Start the contest against Costa. Rockhold is on a fairly underdog line at +285, while Costa is trending a heavily favored tick at -345. With Luke being brutally eliminated in three of the last four games, the breadth of the betting line isn’t surprising, but it’s fair to say that Paul hasn’t fully committed to the Ritz over the past two years either.
