Whether you’re ready or not, Khamzat Chimaev vs. Nate Diaz will head to a pay-per-view screen near you.
On Monday, the UFC released the official promotional video for the welterweight UFC 279 headliner, which aired on Saturday’s pay-per-view broadcast of UFC 278.
This fight marks the final fight for Diaz’s UFC contract. His combat sports future is in question as he looks for other opportunities in boxing, jiu-jitsu and even fighting promotion.
Waiting for Diaz at the exit could be one of the toughest challenges of his fighting career: meeting the red-hot Chimayev, who has won five straight and jumped The title race against Gilbert Burns, the most recent title challenger.
Diaz is a whopping +800 underdog to beat the -1200 favorite Chimayev. But the flashy promo does a good job of selling their career highlights.
UFC 279 will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 10 and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
