UFC 280: 'Oliviera vs. Makhachev' weigh-in results

Octagon will return to Abu Dhabi for Saturday’s UFC 280, a 13-round fight between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makachev .

Oliveira (33-8 MMA) will be looking to reclaim the UFC lightweight title Saturday night when he competes in the Octagon. “Do Bronx” was last seen at May’s UFC 274 bout, extending his current winning streak to 11 with a first-round win over Justin Gaethje (see here). However, because he lost half a pound, Oliveira was forced to give up the title and was ineligible to take it home on the night in Phoenix.

Meanwhile, Islam Makhachev (22-1 MMA) will compete in Saturday’s UFC 280 Main Event for a 10-game winning streak, most recently in last year’s 2 Tseung Kwan O defeated Bobby Green in the first round of the month. The Russian’s only loss came in October 2015 at UFC 192, when he was knocked out by Adriano Martins’ TKO.

UFC 280 is co-led by Aljamain Sterling’s men’s bantamweight title fight. Former Division Champion TJ Dillashaw.

Sterling (21-3 MMA) will play for seven straight wins , his most recent victory over Petr Yan in a split decision at UFC 273. “Funkmaster” hasn’t had a taste of defeat since being brutally knocked down by Marlon Moraes in December 2017.

Meanwhile, TJ Dillashaw (17-4 MMA) last appeared in a July 2021 bout where he won a split decision against Cory Sandhagen. Before that, “Killashaw” had a TKO loss to Henry Cejudo for the flyweight title, which eventually resulted in his suspension for using the EPO.
