Octagon in France for today’s UFC Paris event, a twelve-round match led by Ciryl Gane and Tai Fight Card Tuivasa.
Tonight’s Heavyweight Main Event proved to be a crazy back and forth fight. Ciryl Gane got off to a good start in the game, getting a lot of good jabs and low kicks in the opening round. In the second round, however, Tai Tuivasa was able to find a home for one of his power shots that sent the former interim title holder to the canvas. The Frenchman was able to recover from the pounding and physically kicked Towasa late in the second inning. Then, in the third round, Gane got Tuivasa out with a nasty uppercut and some good pomp of a hammer.
Former Division Champion Robert Whittaker vs. Marvin Vittori. The bout led to another strong performance from former champion Robert Whittaker. “The Reaper” looks great in stand-up and is also able to showcase his world-class knockdown defense. Marvin Vettori looked frustrated but, as always, showed great enthusiasm. In the end, Whitaker won the unanimous decision of the judges present.
After today’s event, UFC officials announced in a post-fight press conference that four fighters will compete. Take-home performance bonuses.
