UNLV is not exactly called a football school. The Rebels have been the doormat in the Mountain West since 1995, with just two winning seasons. The once-proud men’s basketball program has recently struggled.
The great thing about college football is that even if it’s not great, your team can still be fun. Several teams across the country have come up with creative ways to celebrate success on the defensive end, whether it’s Miami’s infamous chain of turnovers or Boise State’s turnover throne. UNLV is taking this idea to the next level.
When UNLV faces Idaho to open the season, the Mayhem tap into their local roots by knocking out “turnover slots.”
Does that slot machine always have all the Rebels logos? Sounds like it’s being manipulated.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen flip slot machines. UNLV made its debut last season and caught on with a game against Utah.
We give it an A+ for creativity and counterpoint commitment.
UNLV wins over Idaho, earning a W start. Maybe “Turnover Slot Machine” will finally usher in the good luck of the show.
