(Reuters) – United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS) said it plans on Tuesday to resume labor talks with the Teamsters union representing 340,000 employees, an effort to avert a strike that could roil supply chains and harm the economy.
The two sides in April began talks on a contract covering the company’s US drivers, package handlers and loaders. 现有的五年期劳工协议将于七月到期
UPS 表示希望在会谈中“解决少数遗留问题”。 The company began negotiations “to increase our already leading salaries and benefits for full-time and part-time unionized employees, and to work towards an agreement that will achieve this goal.” They remain at odds, however, over wage increases for part-time workers who sort packages and load trucks.
