First held in 1932 as the Esposizione d’Arte Cinematografica – at that time only part of the Biennale – Venice Film Festival is not only the history of Venice Film Festival The oldest film festival in the world, but also the most glamorous (with the possible exception of Cannes). The 10 edition opens with Noah Baumbach’s adaptation of White Noise and will see Hollywood superstars and Gucci Arrival at Lido again for 10 days of red carpet events. Films in the running for the Golden Lion this year include: Don’t Worry Darling Olivia Wilde starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles The dystopian thriller; The Blonde , Ana de Armas’ controversial Marilyn Monroe biopic; and Bones and All, Luca Guadagnino and Timothée Chalamet reunite for the first time since 2017’s Call Me named after you .
As in Venice, what happens outside the screening will be as fascinating as the film itself.
