HANOI (Reuters) – Vietnam will impose temporary anti-dumping duties on some furniture products originating in China this month, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said. Tariffs between
21.4% and 35.2% will be implemented for four months from mid-October, The ministry said in a statement late Monday.
The ministry said in its statement that imports of tables and chairs from China had increased “significantly” and had caused damage to domestic production, without elaborating further.
China is Vietnam’s largest trading partner and the main source of materials and equipment for Vietnam’s manufacturing industry.
