After Oppo and OnePlus stopped selling in Germany last summer, vivo has now also closed its online store after Nokia filed a lawsuit. Back in April, a German court ruled in Nokia’s favor over Vivo’s apparent infringement of Nokia’s patents related to WLAN connectivity in Vivo smartphones. For the same reason, Oppo and OnePlus had to temporarily withdraw from the German market.
Without much warning, vivo’s website is now down and German consumers can no longer buy vivo smartphones at home. The German branch would like to send you a brief statement that vivo’s products are currently unavailable, but existing vivo smartphone users will still receive customer service and software updates.
It is worth noting that the patent suit from Nokia Finland is related to the equipment supplier, not HMD Global, which now runs Nokia’s smartphone business.
