vivo launched the X Fold foldable smartphone in April, and today the company announced that it will launch a Plus model next week – September . The launch event will take place in China and start at 7pm local time.
vivo means the “+” in X Fold+ means “the strong will evolve in a stronger way”. It’s unclear if vivo is hinting at durability improvements for the Plus model, or if it’s a reference to something else.
vivo also shared an image showing the design of the X Fold Plus. It looks similar to the vivo X Fold, but will now also come in red. Regular models are available in black and blue.
vivo hasn’t detailed the spec sheet for the X Fold Plus, but we know the X Fold+ will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and pack 4, 512 mAh battery with 50W wired and 50W wireless Charging support. AnTuTu revealed that the X Fold+ will have GB RAM, 512GB storage and 120Hz screen.
The vivo X Fold+ is expected to be the same as the X Fold, except for the new chip, larger battery, faster wired charging and new colors. We may hear more about it from vivo in the days leading up to the September 26 event.
