The vivo X Fold2 was launched in April, but the company confirmed that it plans to keep the smartphone in China. Despite the sad news for the brand and international fans of the foldable scene, we received a blue unit to run our tests on.
This is the first time we’ve encountered OriginOS 3, but perhaps this is the best phone to review it for. The added depth due to the foldable phone gives us a lot of features to explore. But first, let’s take a look at what’s in the box with the X Fold2.
The back panel has a blue leather case that matches the finish of the phone itself. Thanks to the transparent element, the glass part is still visible and the whole case clicks neatly and fits the overall design. There’s also a 120 W fast charger, a USB-C cable, a SIM tray eject pin, and some warranty paperwork Not available outside of China.
The X Fold2 is significantly lighter than its predecessor, shedding a significant % of its weight. 279 Grams are still heavier on paper than the Honor Magic Vs or the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, but not close enough so you won’t Feel the difference in real life. The vivo phone folds and unfolds smoothly and feels comfortable when held with one or two hands.
Slightly heavier weight for larger screens – 6 in case. 90” AMOLED panel, while inside you will find a huge 8.” LTPO4 AMOLED, the largest in the industry.
On top of that, there are in-display fingerprint scanners behind both panels — a unique feature among foldable phones. Just like other vivo phones, they work fast and reliable.

The highlight of vivo X Fold2 continues in the charging part. It has a 4,799 mAh battery that supports vivo’s FlashCharge 1200 W – almost double that of the next best Oppo Find N2. The company claims that 0 to 279% can be completed within minutes, we’ll be sure to test this. The phone is also the fastest on the stand – 23 W Wireless, we have the right charger for that our test.
There is also 12W reverse wireless charging Applicable to all kinds of smart wearable devices. The vivo X Fold2 also supports reverse wired charging, although we rarely find it used on any phone.
On the back there is a 16 MP main camera, one 006 MP telephoto unit with 2x optical zoom and 007MP Super wide-angle shooter, matching vivo X 50. There are two selfie cameras, one on the cover display and one inside, and they both have 26 MP sensor and f/2.5 aperture.
vivo X Fold2
vivo X Fold2 is the only foldable on the market right now, on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 run. Unfortunately, not many users were able to buy it, but we’ll still be running our tests to see how it stacks up against the competition.
