For most, the passing of Labor Day weekend means the end of a sweet summer and the dawn of fall, but for us Vogue, The penultimate weekend means only one thing: the start of New York Fashion Week. The week-long extravaganza kicks off this Friday and includes a busy day of running uptown and downtown, attending shows, and a lively night after parties and events. While exciting, this time of year can also be overwhelming, which is where sturdy wardrobe essentials, hero beauty products, and more come to save the day. In order to survive the chaos,

My go-to shoe for fashion week is always sneakers! Currently on the hunt for the coveted Wales Bonner x Adidas collaboration, my size has been sold out for months, but Net-a-Porter just added this pair! I’m not going anywhere without my favorite Caudalie spray. Honestly, I’m not sure about its benefits, but everything I know makes me feel refreshed when I need it the most.

I like to feel at fashion week Great performance (I’ll never be the type to wear a cool girl sneaker look), but comfort is key, too. Thankfully, these patented boots from Miista tick both. Early morning and late night means that sunglasses are a must if you don’t want to look too “Night of the Living Dead” in street shots. My favorite Stella McCartney pair has stood the test of time. I find fragrance to be a shortcut from day to night, and I always have a travel version of Byredo’s Mumbai Noise tucked in my handbag.

If I’ve learned anything from fashion week, it’s that fashion week definitely doesn’t have time to pull the plug! In fact, the opposite is true. To stay connected, I always keep a portable charger (or even two) in my handbag of choice for a rainy day! I also always wear a pair of headphones to keep my spirits up between shows. From taking the subway to walking the block, music is an absolute must. This season, my focus is on Apple’s Airpod Max wireless kit.

I like a finished situation. There’s no easier way to look great with the least amount of effort, and it’s all I can do with a full schedule. So you’ll see me frolicking on the streets of New York City in many dresses. Here are some favorites that I can’t wait to wear.

My Fashion Week Survival Guide is all about convenience. As someone who always needs to be prepared, I always keep a few things in a handy tote bag (must!) for grooming and work on the go. I get pretty oily all day, so I like to have Fenty Beauty’s setting and oil-absorbing powder on hand to combat shine. Next, since I’ve become super sensitive to fragrances, I don’t leave the house without discovering the mini bottle, which is packed in a fresh scent to lift the midday mood.

Reusable in Water bottles are an absolute must for me during fashion week. Running from show to show back to the office and another is no small feat, especially during the warmer months. During such a busy time, it’s important to stay hydrated and pay attention to unnecessary waste. I also always keep a travel sized spray of hand sanitizer in my purse because Covid has clearly shown how many dirty surfaces we all touch! Lastly, sunglasses are unavoidable, as you will inevitably be lining up for a show at noon, with the sun directly on you.
