The latest trailer for Ryan Coogler’s upcoming sequel to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever offers the best look at the new Black Panther.
Trailer tells the emotional story of the late Chadwick Boseman’s character’s loss, son King T’Challa also teased the next Black Panther, but didn’t directly reveal the new protector of the African nation of Wakanda.
King T’Challa’s mural appears at one stage of the trailer, just as Marvel Studios is doing The production was happy to have the sequel pay homage to the late Boseman, whose character was not recast for the sequel.
But the mystery of the trailer is: who will be the next Black Panther?
“They have lost their protectors,” observes Queen Ramonda, played by Angela Bassett, in King T’Challa After T’Challa’s death, the Wakanda were attacked, including from a hidden undersea nation called Talokan.
“It is time for us to strike…show them who we are,” Queen Ramonda declared. Just then, a woman in a black suit falls from the sky, and the trailer teases the next Black Panther.
Wakanda Forever is the sequel to the Coogler film that became a cultural touchstone and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture. Coogler wrote a sequel to Black Black Panther star Boseman, predating his untimely death.
Coogler and Marvel Studios then began working out how to move forward while respecting Boseman’s legacy.
Wakanda Forever starring Lupita Nyong’o, Wright, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, Bassett and Martin Freeman, and Marvel rookie Tenoch Huerta as Namor and Dominique Thorne as hero Riri Williams.
Black Panther : Wakanda Forever will be released in November 11.
