Warriors backup AJ Minter thinks Atlanta could have swept the Cardinals. The only question? Instead, they lost two-thirds.
The Warriors lost 6-3 to the Cardinals on Sunday night, and Minter’s decisive eighth was the biggest factor in Atlanta’s loss Bureau. Minter gave up four runs in the inning, including two home runs.
Despite the series loss, Minter still has a lot to say about his teammates on the club’s defense.
“We played a great game,” Minter said. “We just keep doing it to ourselves. You have to love this game. You come out, one night will break your heart, then come out, be a hero, and be on top of the world [the next day]. It was a tough loss, But it was a great game.” Warriors: AJ Minter disrespecting Cardinals after series loss
How much favor? Minter has been great all season. To put it simply, hey, I don’t have the best stuff today. But instead, he cut a tangent throughout baseball, even taking aim at the Red Jays.
“We could have easily swept the series. We’re playing great baseball. There’s no reason to ignore it. It’s tough, it’s thorny It hurts, but we can wake up and keep playing,” Minter continued, according to Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The above comment shrugs off what just happened in the three games in St. Louis. The Warriors have lost two of the three games they’ve played, including a heartbreaking loss on Sunday night.
Sure, Atlanta is the defending champs unless proven otherwise, but shouldn’t the Cardinals at least get their attention? Minter hinted that he doesn’t see St. Louis as a major playoff threat, which could be some important bulletin board material in October.
