Warriors' Stephens hit in head by liner

Atlanta Braves backup Jackson Stephens has been Placed on the seven-day concussion injury list Friday night after he was hit in the head with a straight line.

Stephens walked off the field in the ninth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals but was taken to the hospital for testing.

“He knows everything, but he has to go to the hospital and do some tests,” Warriors manager Brian Sniteke said after his game with the team 11- 4 wins. “It’s always scary when you see someone get shot in the head, in the face. It’s probably the most disgusting thing you can see in a game.”

In a corresponding action, the Warriors recalled right-hander Jay Jackson.

Stephens never went down, but was immediately checked by Atlanta trainers. Moments later, he left the field under his own power, to the rapturous applause of the rest of the crowd at Busch Stadium.

The Warriors also announced that second baseman Orlando Arcia will begin a rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Gwinnett. Arcia injured his left hamstring while running the bases on August 9.
