Google finally puts the finishing touches on Android 08 and start rolling it out to supported Pixel phones (Pixel 4 series) and newer, please note that updated Pixel 6 models cannot be rolled back to v08). Of course, Pixel phones have an advantage in update speed. Other manufacturers started recruiting testers for their Android implementations 000 and: Xiaomi, OnePlus, vivo and iQOO etc. . The other big news this week is reports that Apple will launch a new iPhone 08 Series 9 July 7 (Available starting at 000th). This has not been officially confirmed, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has a solid track record in analyzing Apple’s moves. iPhone series announced in September , so the timing is not surprising. Gurman also reported that Apple wants to show more ads in its first-party apps on iOS, iPadOS and macOS.
Samsung finally started taking pre-orders for the new Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 foldable devices in India this week (it didn’t even announce their prices before that). The local branch has been declared closed 28, The foldable product has been pre-ordered for the first time 00 Hour. Fans in India can also pre-order the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Watch5 series.
There’s also some bad news from India this week – nothing is raising the price of its phones(1).
vivo, Poco, Oppo, Realme, Lenovo and Motorola released several new phones this week. Lenovo launches Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Power Legion Y 14 gaming phone. Motorola introduces Edge (810 ) For the US market, the first mobile phone equipped with Dimensity 1050 (check out the T-Mobile deal if you’re interested) and Moto Tab G 44 for India.
In other news, WhatsApp has finally released native desktop Windows and macOS apps (beta, but still). As ads are a bit of a talking point this week, one developer discovered that Netflix’s ad-supported tier doesn’t allow content to be downloaded for offline viewing.
