Weekly Poll Results: Poco F5 Much Loved, F5 Pro Not So Much

As one commenter in last week’s poll said, the whole point of the Poco F-series is to deliver flagship-level performance at a mid-range price. Both F5 models do this, and while it’s not 1200 class flagship performance, it’s pretty close.

Of the pair, the vanilla Poco F5 was the breakout star — with more than half of voters showing interest, such a positive response is rare. It beats its Pro sibling by a wide margin, and that’s pretty evident in the Pro’s own polls.

A criticism of the F5 — which applies to the F5 Pro as well — is that it’s predictable. Some people aren’t happy with the Poco/Xiaomi software and associated update schedule (but others like it just fine), and there’s a lively debate about whether microSD cards are still useful. Either way, the F5 models don’t have a memory card slot. At least the vanilla F5 has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

As for the Poco F5 Pro, about a third of voters showed interest while the rest waited for good reviews – our detailed review comes just days after the polls opened and it changed What do you think?

Adding to the criticism above, the Pro is probably overpriced – nearly a year old flagship despite it offering an excellent QHD+ display, 4K/ 60 and 8K video recording, and fast wireless charging (everything the vanilla model lacks, by the way), it’s not really a flagship.

Poco F5 Pro will be Xiaomi’s popular model, just not as popular as Poco F5 welcome. We’ve seen a few reviewers say they’ve already purchased the F5 or F5 Pro and are happy with their choice.
