Morgan has teamed up with swimwear brand Orlebar Brown for a quirky worn-out Super 3
This is a Morgan Super 3, created in collaboration with high end swimwear brand Orlebar Brown. It’s just in time for beach weather in the southern hemisphere. It was a long way from Morgan’s home in Malvern.
But it’s hard to argue that the Super 3 was particularly far from home for Morgan, since Super 3 has been about getting the most fun out of the fewest mechanical parts since 1909 – when Henry Frey Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan built one to experience its potential firsthand.

The “minimum mechanical bit” part of the equation goes a long way in explaining Morgan’s four-decade run up to the 1950’s tricycles – and their Return in 2012. Although we’re sure the “maximum fun” part didn’t hurt its cause either.
You might notice it’s now called the Super 3, rather than the more prosaic (but Ronseal-tested) 3-Wheeler, but the formula is broadly similar – two tires for steering , one tire for strength. As you may have noticed, the biggest change is that the engine is now inside the hood instead of in front of it. What will they think next?
Well, you’re watching. Yes, it’s a corporate collaboration with a fashion brand, no, it doesn’t really pique our interest, whether it’s Paul Smith and the Defender 90 or Adidas and the Golf GTI. As cool as those Eddie Bauer Broncos are, to this day we still want a Sisley Panda 4×4…well. Maybe it’s worth re-evaluating.
So let’s start with the obvious: who is Orlebar Brown? Well, while we can schmooze about “colours,” “fit,” and “wardrobe essentials” in seemingly obligatory fashion, we’ll just give you some cliffhanger notes. If you think of Orlebar Brown’s collection as “beautiful swimwear that goes anywhere,” then you’re almost there. fashionable , dahling, founder Adam Brown does seem like a cool guy, so this works.

What we might not be sure about is the bimini top arrangement that extends over the Super 3 cabin. Although, when you’re at the beach and don’t have SPF50+, it can be pretty darn fun. And, while tastes may vary, Orlebar Brown’s signature red hue complements the traditional cream and tan theme.
Although almost always repetitive, little meaning to our industry and beyond, is the naming scheme. Like the way this stuff is handled, it’s called OB x Morgan Super 3…because using “and” is so common, or something.
But you can hardly accuse Morgan Super 3 of being mediocre; whether that’s a good thing depends on your frame of reference and how invested you are emotionally (or indeed financially) in Morgan . But just in case you want a truly unusual Mog, you can do much worse than fashion brands.
