Chicago White Sox not going this month It went well, but they got some really good news on Thursday.
White Sox closer Liam Hendriks announced via Instagram that he is in remission and “cancer free” after completing his final round of chemotherapy earlier this month. The 34-year-old was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a serious cancer of the lymphatic system, in January.
Hendriks showed multiple photos of his battle with cancer with the following caption:
How it started vs how it developed…
This is official. I am cancer free. Being cancer-free doesn’t mean he’ll recover right away. He may need additional therapy, as well as time to get back into shape after missing spring training.
